He was born in 1949, in the erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. He settled settled in Smethwick in England in 1954. On 7th July 1976, he sat a class one HGV driving test at Purfleet Test Centre, Essex. By passing he became the UK’s first South Asian class one HGV driver. In his 32-year long professional driving  career, he drove across UK and Europe. He loved travelling and had many different interesting stories to tell and encountered many different people along the side.

She passed away peacefully in July 2020 and they are together again.
